Menopause is a natural part of life, when menstrual periods stop. However, while menopause is a normal part of reproductive health, it can cause a lot of discomfort, apprehension, or distress.
Symptoms of menopause can range from very mild to severe and can include hot flushes and night sweats, insomnia or difficulty sleeping, aches and pains, headaches, mood disturbances or irritability, low self-esteem, weight fluctuations, reduced libido or sex drive, fatigue or tiredness, needing to urinate more frequently, vaginal dryness and discomfort during sexual intercourse. Some of these symptoms can impact overall health and well-being, personal relationships and workforce participation.
