Family Violence Practitioner, Men’s Behaviour | Bayside & South Eastern Suburbs
A Better Way is a community-based program that works directly with Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal fathers who use controlling behaviours and/or violence against their family.
We are looking for practitioners/counsellors who have:
Adopted cultural healing approaches specifically designed for Aboriginal fathers and families.
Further assists and supports fathers in developing positive parenting relationships with their children.
Offers fathers a flexible and individualised, tailored treatment approach.
Addresses family violence to increase the safety and well-being for their children and families.
Has a 1:1 family violence, trauma-informed approach that is underpinned by the Safe & Together ™ model.

Child Protection Practice Leader Navigator | Frankston
Child Protection Navigator is a Practice Leader Position dedicated to the Family Preservation and Reunification Response. The Child Protection Navigator supports activation of the Response and right time, with the right people and in the right place to promote and protect the rights and best interests of children and young people. The Child Protection Navigator will model and enhance trauma informed, culturally safe and responsive practice that is child and family centred, relational and evidence-informed and integrated to improve outcomes of child safety, wellbeing and development. The Child Protection Navigator provides a unique opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families and has a strong focus to develop a connected and coordinated practice culture and mindset shift of Response practitioners within child and family services and Child Protection practitioners working together.
The role may also undertake case practice quality audits and provide regular practice forums and reflective practice sessions. A core requirement of this role includes a case carrying component, commensurate with other responsibilities.
The transportation of children is a requirement of this role, as such a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel, including in country regions is essential. There may be the requirement to work overnight and, travel in evenings and early mornings. On occasions, additional hours may be required to ensure the wellbeing of children.

Family Peer Specialist CYMHS | Moorabbin
At Alfred ICYAMHWS (Infant, Child, Youth, Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service) our Family/Carer Peer Workers are known as Family Peer Specialists. As one of our Family Peer Specialists, you will draw from your own lived experience in a purposeful manner to offer support, either face to face or over the telephone, to families, carers and supporters of children aged 0-11 attending Alfred ICYAMHWS. This role is an established role across the 0-11 teams which cover the bayside geographical area covered by Alfred ICYAMHWS. The Family Peer Specialist will be part of a supportive interdisciplinary team, reporting to the Manager Family / Carer Lived Experience Program – ICYAMHWS. Care is focused on the family/carers/supporters but as families are included from the first meeting, you are likely to cross paths with the child, as well as their family, support networks, and clinical staff.
