In great news, the Australian government has updated the Migration Amendment Regulations 2024, effective from 16 October 2024. Children under 18 who were born and live in Australia no longer need to prove they are free from health conditions that could incur significant healthcare costs when applying for permanent residency or citizenship. This change ensures that existing health issues won’t impact their permanent visa applications.
