Victoria needs to much more, much earlier to prevent violence, intervene and stop men’s use of violence at its source.

Join us at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre in-person or online on the 14th of October from 1-3:30PM to put the future of family violence firmly on the election agenda.

Government investment overwhelmingly flows to late-stage interventions, police, courts and prisons. Too many men using violence pass through the system without being held accountable or challenged to change. They disappear from view, enter new relationships and the cycle starts again. What should be the last resort – for far too many victim-survivors – is the first system response they receive, often after years of enduring violent and controlling behaviour.

We can build more prisons and tighten bail laws, but that does not stop violence before police are called. This election must confront that gap.

A safer Victoria is one that stops the next instance of family violence; one that does much more, much earlier. Join us to demand better.
