Understanding the lived experience of young people using violence | CECFW

November 15, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join us in this webinar where we speak with Dr Kate Fitz-Gibbon and Dr Silke Meyer, who will present findings from the ANROWS-funded report, ‘Adolescent family violence in Australia: A national study of service and support needs for young people who use family violence’.

This research draws directly from the voices of over 5000 young people who participated in the study.

The report examines:

  • Young people’s experiences of disclosing their use of family violence to informal supports, including family and friends.
  • Who young people cite as the most helpful and least helpful person they disclosed their use of family violence to, and why.
  • The reporting behaviours and support needs of First Nations young people, young people from non-English speaking backgrounds, young people with disability, gender-diverse young people and young people with diverse sexual identities, and young people living in regional and rural areas.

There will be an opportunity for participants to engage in a Q&A with the presenters at the end of the presentation.

This webinar is free to attend but registration is essential.
