Promoting Gender Equity in the Early Years Forum 2.0 | BHN & Bayside City Council
Health Promotion at BHN are once again bringing together early years professionals to explore our role in primary prevention of gender-based violence through the promotion of gender equity, respectful relationships, and all the things children can be.
We’ll be joined by author, speaker and creator Scott Stuart (My Shadow is Pink + many more!) – see below.
We know these precious years before school are a time of rich development, and we all want children to have a strong sense of identity and belonging, reinforced in our learning and development frameworks and quality standards.
- How does that intersect with gender stereotypes and rigid gender norms?
- How do these play out in early childhood and what is our role in buffering against these?
Join other early years professionals working with young children and families to move beyond “boys will be boys” and explore how we can intentionally and proactively tell a story that challenges the current narratives about difference, and supports all children to be who they’re meant to be.
