PiP in Conversation: Gender Transformative Practice | Safe + Equal & PIP

October 29 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
Free

Gender transformative practice in primary prevention draws on a rich global history of work in public health and community-led advocacy. This work is at an exciting turning point. The appetite for deep transformative work with communities is growing. Changing with Pride, a new forthcoming national framework to prevent gender-based violence with and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) people and communities, is set to provide important guidance for the sector.

At the same time, the context for this work is becoming increasingly complex. Resistance to gender equality is on the rise, anti-trans movements are growing and resourced, and the manosphere is gaining influence, particularly in the lives of young people and how they understand gender.

Join us at the final PiP in Person event of the year, PiP in Conversation: Gender Transformative Practice (in-person only).

Together, we’ll explore Safe and Equal’s new resource, Transforming gender: insights for primary prevention practice and much more through a panel discussion and facilitated table conversations on advancing gender transformative practice in primary prevention.

This event will create space for practitioners to explore gender transformative practice, engage with this changing landscape and workshop how they are navigating this and what is needed next.
