Technology-facilitated coercive control includes the use of mobile and digital technologies in online sexual harassment, stalking, surveillance, and image-based abuse. Victim-survivors commonly experience a combination of technology-facilitated and in-person abuse. Technology provides a way to extend the perpetrators ability to monitor and maintain surveillance of the victim-survivor. However, the nature of technology-facilitated coercive control means that victim-survivors can find seeking help to be challenging.
