Coercive Control and Children Conference | Safe & Together
March 18 @ 8:00 am - March 20 @ 5:30 pm
We’re excited to announce the addition of our first-ever Family Law Track at the upcoming Coercive Control and Children Conference at the Melbourne Convention Center March 18-20th.
This specialized track brings together Independent Children’s Lawyers, family law practitioners, judicial officers, and family court experts to explore how a domestic abuse-informed approach can transform outcomes for children.
Through dedicated plenary sessions and workshops, participants will:
- Gain practical tools for identifying and documenting patterns of coercive control in custody, parenting time, and property matters
- Learn strategies for presenting evidence of harmful parenting choices in court
- Develop skills for identifying protective parenting in the context of domestic abuse
- Master approaches for holding perpetrators accountable as parents
- Build confidence in applying recent legislative reforms through a domestic abuse-informed lens
Whether you’re an ICL seeking to strengthen your child advocacy, a family lawyer wanting to better represent clients impacted by domestic abuse, or a judicial officer looking to make more informed decisions, this track offers concrete strategies you can implement immediately.
This track is also open to non-family law practitioners. Child protection workers, women’s sector workers, and others will benefit from learning more about what improves practice in this area.
Join us in advancing family court practice that truly centers children’s safety and wellbeing.
