Alexis Family Violence Response Model (A-FVRM)

| Description | The Alexis Family Violence Response Model (A-FVRM) provides a timely, flexible, coordinated and cross-sector response to high-risk family violence, supporting victim survivor safety and behaviour change for persons using violence. The program works with individuals and families experiencing repeated Victoria Police contact due to family violence, or those with complex needs and intersecting vulnerabilities that may limit their access to mainstream services. Working in partnership with Victoria Police, A-FVRM aims to reduce risk and improve long-term safety and wellbeing through an integrated response. |
| Services Provided | A-FVRM provides early intervention, assertive outreach, short-term case management and case coordination for victim survivors and persons using violence. The program undertakes family violence risk assessment and safety planning, facilitates referrals and connections to specialist services, and works collaboratively with Victoria Police and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, trauma-informed, culturally safe, whole-of-family responses where appropriate. |

| Description | A 20-week program supports individuals who use power, control, or abuse in their relationships to take responsibility for their behaviour and make lasting change. Using the Duluth Model, it views family violence as a learned behaviour rooted in power and control, helping participants replace abusive behaviours with respectful, non-violent ways of relating | A specialised Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) designed for participants with additional support needs, including cognitive or neurological differences, acquired brain injury (ABI), or mental health barriers such as social anxiety. The program is delivered at a slower pace and provides more individualised support to enhance engagement and completion. | Description | In partnership with Good Shepherd, Bayside Health’s Changing Ways program provides an intensive, coordinated case management response for adult men using family violence who present with co occurring mental health and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues. The program offers tailored support, delivered as individualised, trauma informed comprehensive case management and integrated responses across the community and social services. The partnership team also supports the victim survivors impacted by their violence. |

| Description | Men’s Behaviour Change Programs | Melbourne MBCP & Support A 20-week group that is delivered face to face. All groups are run after hours from 6.30 – 8.15 pm. In the group sessions, men are encouraged to focus on themselves, what brought them to the group and what gets in the way of them being the man that they want to be. We cover a number of topics including what is violence and abuse, communication, masculinity, feelings and how to manage intense emotions, fathering Typically, the cost of the group program is $25 per session, depending on individual circumstances.
