Referral ProcessWe have several services and programs that that may be able to assist if you are experiencing adolescent violence in the home. To start, please contact The Orange Door to refer you to the most appropriate service.

Eligibility Criteria 
  • Families with a young person in the home aged between 12 and 17.5 years old

• Families where the young person is using violence in the home and has experienced family violence
• Families residing in the Bayside Peninsula region

AVITH Services
  • Keeping Families Safe Program: The Keeping Families Safe (KFS) is a State-funded program that focuses on the safety needs of families when an adolescent is using violence or abusive behaviour in the home.We work with families in a way that is non-blaming and non-shaming, and seek to understand the different viewpoints within the family.

  • The program is available to parents, carers, family members and adolescents aged 12-18 years who live in the Bayside Peninsula area.

AVITH Services
  • Choose Deadly:The Adolescents using Family Violence in the Home (AVITH) Program offers
    therapeutic case management and comprehensive family support for young
    people aged between 12 – 17 engaging in family violence. The program focuses on
    enhancing safety within the family and extends a holistic approach whilst working
    with siblings, carers, and other family members affected by the violence

Eligibility Criteria 
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who use family violence in the home.
  • Non-Indigenous young people who use family violence against an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander family member living in the home (such as a step-parent or step-sibling).
  • Aged 12-17 years old (with leeway depending on individual circumstances).
