Workshop: Neurobiology of professional well-being | Australian Childhood Foundation

This workshop provides a practical and experiential exploration of the neurobiology of professional well-being. It considers the risks and impacts of vicarious trauma and provides a framework that enables the implementation of a well being approach. Importantly this workshop supports professionals, and enhances confidence and effectiveness in practice.

This workshop is aimed at people working with and caring for children and young people who have experienced trauma, including Child Protection practitioners, Mental health and allied health professionals, Educators and early-learning staff, Family Support Services, and out-of-home care staff.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the knowledge of neurobiology and well-being
  • Understand the personal, professional and organisational contributors to vicarious trauma
  • Use this knowledge to explore a framework and strategies that support staff in a range of environments
  • Consider tools to assess well-being and create a personalised support plan
