Protect your plates – SafePL8 event for Bayside residents

Drive in on Sunday 30 November and have one way locking screws fitted to your vehicle to prevent number plate theft and support police efforts to reduce crime.

Did you know that stolen number plates are often used by offenders to avoid identification when committing serious crimes such as petrol theft, drug trafficking, and burglary?

SafePL8 is a Victoria Police initiative that helps people secure vehicle number plates with anti-theft screws, making them harder to steal and be used illegally.

Members from SD2 Proactive Policing Unit, Neighbourhood Watch Bayside and SES will be hosting the Safe PL8 event for Bayside residents.

No bookings required, just drive up.

This is a free service with screws funded by Bayside City Council.
