DESCRIPTION:Wayapa is an earth connection practice that is based on ancient Indigenous wisdom that focuses on taking care of the Earth as the starting point for creating Earth Mind Body Spirit well-being. Through a combination of Earth mindfulness\, narrative meditation\, a series of physical movements and taking action to look after the planet\, Wayapa provides a sense of belonging to the Earth while creating holistic well-being. \nYou will be guided by Justine Cooper\, who has trained in a number of Medicinal Movement practices and is a qualified Yoga Teacher. Justine’s connection to the Earth is deeply rooted in her heritage. With connections to the Palawa people in Tasmania\, her work in Cultural Heritage for the Bunurong Land Council serves as an extension of her love for Country. During the walk\, you will learn about First Nations connection to Country\, including the cultural uses of local plants. DESCRIPTION:A family friendly community day for Aboriginal\, Torres Strait Islander people and allies. Cultural experiences\, music and food. \n\n\n\n\nWe would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians across Australia\, extending this acknowledgement to all our stolen children yet to find home\, and to all First Nations people across the world. Thank you to all of our ancestors who protected and nurtured the land for us. \nWho: \nOur Survival Day is brought to you by Our Songlines\, a 100% Aboriginal-owned and woman-led organisation that is passionate about making Indigenous culture accessible to First Nations and allies alike\, in a supportive\, safe environment. \nWhere: \nWe are honoured to be hosting Our Survival Day at The Briars\, Mt Martha on Bunurong land\, of the Boon Wurrung Language Group within the Kulin Nation\, amongst Indigenous plants\, trees\, birds\, and habitat for wildlife. \nWhat: \nWith a focus on Indigenous education\, cultural entertainment\, food and sustainability through the theme of ‘Her Story; Matriarchs of 2026′ will have something for everyone.
