SUMMARY:Research Matters Forum - Dr. Natalie Amos | Rainbow Health
DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Health Australia is launching a new series of events that will build further on Research Matters print resources.  Research Matters forums will share findings from the latest research on LGBTIQ health and wellbeing\, discuss current practice experience and how emerging research findings can help inform and assist communities\, organisations\, service providers and government to improve health\, wellbeing\, and inclusion for LGBTIQ people. \nIn this first session\, we will host Dr. Natalie Amos\, Research Officer from the Australian Research Centre in Sex\, Health and Society (ARCSHS). She will discuss new findings that indicate LGBTQ adults who experience family and intimate partner violence may not recognise these experiences or name them as\, family violence. SUMMARY:Pride in Prevention Launch | Rainbow Health
DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Health Australia is excited to announce the launch of new resources – on August 31\, they will be launching a new guide in their Pride in Prevention series. This guide is focused on building partnerships between the sectors engaged in LGBTIQ health and well-being\, and prevention of family violence and violence against women. The Pride in Prevention Partnership Guide provides additional guidance and practical advice about building partnerships to support the primary prevention of family violence experienced by LGBTIQ communities. \nThis guide builds on Pride in Prevention: a guide to primary prevention of family violence experienced by LGBTIQ communities\, which drew together existing research and policy frameworks\, and put forward a new conceptual model for understanding LGBTIQ experiences of family violence\, along with priority actions for primary prevention. \nThe new guide provides additional support to build the expertise and capacity of both LGBTIQ practitioners and organisations\, and family violence prevention practitioners and organisations\, in the design and delivery of primary prevention of family violence experienced by LGBTIQ communities.
