SUMMARY:Putting MARAM into Practice: Advanced Case Notes and Documentation in a Family Violence Context | CFECFW
DESCRIPTION:The Centre has developed a series of new MARAM workshops entitled “Putting MARAM into Practice”. The workshops address some of the key challenges practitioners confront when they integrate MARAM into their everyday work. These practice challenges were identified from three types of consultation: \n\nInterviews with MARAM participants\nObservations and recommendations from the team of MARAM trainers\nReview of MARAM post-course evaluations since March 2020\, all of which included the questions: “How will your practice change after this training?” and “What is the main barrier or challenge you identify in using the MARAM Framework in your workplace?”.\n\nLearning Outcomes: \n\nUse your case notes to keep the person using violence in view\nUse your case notes to help other practioners build the victim-survivor’s capacity\nAlign terminology with MARAM’s evidence base\nWrite case notes that may be used in future legal proceedings\nUnderstand how a V/S may view the notes in future years\nHow various documentation frameworks intersect with MARAM\n\nClick here for more information and to register

SUMMARY:Young people with disability who use violence at home
DESCRIPTION:Building a framework to prevent and respond to young people with disability who use violence at home \n\n\n\nA webinar series exploring different contexts and issues that impact young people using violence in the home\, and their families.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us as we hear from Dr Georgina Sutherland\, lead researcher of this ANROWS-funded project “Building a framework to prevent and respond to young people with disability who use violence at home”. \nThe aim of this project is to build a better understanding of individual\, relationship\, community context and sociocultural factors relevant for understanding young people with disability who use violence at home. The project entails a conceptual review of the literature and in-depth qualitative inquiry about the lived experience of young people with disability\, their families and key sector stakeholders. \n\n\n“There are lifelong consequences of decisions made about young people with disability who use violence at home\, yet the lack of a common understanding about what drives and contributes to [AVITH] results in responses that can result in further harm for the young person with disability and their family. It is critical to establish an explicit\, integrated and comprehensive framework to guide prevention and response.” \nRead more about the research project here. \n\n\nThis webinar is free to attend\, but registration is essential.  Register here.
