SUMMARY:Bridging the Gender Pain Gap: From Understanding to Action | WHISE
DESCRIPTION:Women’s pain is too often dismissed\, minimised or left undiagnosed. That pattern is not inevitable. It is produced by how systems of care are designed\, funded and connected\, which means organisations in our region can change it. \nIn August 2026\, more than 70 practitioners from health\, community\, social services\, family violence and multicultural sectors came together for the first Bridging the Gender Pain Gap workshop\, hosted by Women’s Health in the South East (WHISE). Guided by women with lived experience and the Victorian Government’s Bridging the Gender Pain Gap report\, participants mapped where systems are falling short and what could change. They also asked for a next step: a chance to move from shared understanding to shared action. \nThis workshop is that next step. \nOver two hours online\, you will work in a small\, facilitated breakout room on one of nine priority themes identified in Workshop 1. Together\, your room will shape one clear\, realistic action that organisations in the region can start within the next three months\, using resources they already have\, led by a named person from a partner organisation. \nIdeas that need new funding\, policy change or a longer timeframe will not be lost. They will feed a shared regional advocacy agenda and the work of a possible regional Community of Practice on women’s pain. \nYou do not need to have attended Workshop One. The session opens with a short synthesis of what we heard\, so everyone starts from the same place. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:PiP in Conversation: Gender Transformative Practice | Safe + Equal & PIP
DESCRIPTION:Gender transformative practice in primary prevention draws on a rich global history of work in public health and community-led advocacy. This work is at an exciting turning point. The appetite for deep transformative work with communities is growing. Changing with Pride\, a new forthcoming national framework to prevent gender-based violence with and for lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, intersex\, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) people and communities\, is set to provide important guidance for the sector. \n  \nAt the same time\, the context for this work is becoming increasingly complex. Resistance to gender equality is on the rise\, anti-trans movements are growing and resourced\, and the manosphere is gaining influence\, particularly in the lives of young people and how they understand gender. \n  \nJoin us at the final PiP in Person event of the year\, PiP in Conversation: Gender Transformative Practice (in-person only). \nTogether\, we’ll explore Safe and Equal’s new resource\, Transforming gender: insights for primary prevention practice and much more through a panel discussion and facilitated table conversations on advancing gender transformative practice in primary prevention. \n  \nThis event will create space for practitioners to explore gender transformative practice\, engage with this changing landscape and workshop how they are navigating this and what is needed next. \nRegister here \n
