DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for a guided walk with Uncle Josh West\, a Traditional Owner of local Bunurong and Palawa land. \nThe event will begin with Uncle Josh West providing a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony\, creating a respectful and culturally safe start to the event. \nFollowing this\, Uncle Josh West will take you on a guided cultural bush walk through the Briars Sanctuary. During the walk\, you will learn about First Nations connection to Country\, including the cultural uses of local plants. This will cover topics such as bush medicine\, traditional food sources\, artefacts\, and land management practices\, providing a meaningful and educational experience on culture and Country. \nThings that are good to know: \n\nMeet at the Briars Visitor Centre\nIncludes Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony\nOutdoor walk – wear comfy clothes & shoes\nLearn about bush medicine\, food & culture\nSuitable for children or adults who are comfortable walking 2 km at an easy pace.\n\nRegister here
