SUMMARY:Protect\, Share\, Support: Understanding Family Violence in Disability Service | CFECCW
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for workers in disability support services that are not formally part of Victoria’s MARAM family violence prevention framework. It shares the best practices from Victoria’s framework as they apply to context of working with people with disability\, including guidance around information sharing and privacy for organisations that are not part of Victoria’s family violence information sharing framework. \nIt draws on the best practices and latest knowledge about family violence\, as reflected in Victoria’s Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework. Topics covered: \n\nWhat is family violence? How our understanding of the spectrum of family violence has evolved over time.\nUnderstand the nature of coercive control and cumulative harm\, particularly as it may occur for people with disability.\nUsing a disability and trauma-informed lens\, we examine best practices for responding safely and respectfully to disclosures.\nWe share guidance for sharing information and seeking consultation from services that can support people experiencing family violence.\nWe share best practices for documenting and handling client concerns.\n\nRegister here

DESCRIPTION:This information session\, presented by Relationships Australia\, is to support dads with community education and awareness around topics of interest in the developmental needs. This particular session will focus on strategies to help dads manage the emotions of their children\, and ways to develop healthy and respectful relationships in their role as a dad.\n\n\n\n\nThis session will address the following outcomes: \n\n\nUnderstanding the development stages of children \n\n\nAbility to recognise early warning signs of escalating emotions in children\, and take steps to prevent escalated emotions\, where possible \n\n\nIdentify and reflect on personal emotional triggers that may impact their responses\, and strategies to manage these triggers before they escalate \n\n\nUnderstand how and why we might react both physically and emotionally to difficult situations and escalated emotions in children \n\n\nDiscuss and apply strategies to help manage and work with escalated childrens emotions    \n\n\nReflect on what a healthy relationship looks like as a parent\, and ways to embed these within the household \n\n\nDemonstrate an understanding of how to monitor your own reactions and practise self-care. \n\n\n  \nRegister here
