SUMMARY:It Starts with Us Screening
DESCRIPTION:Two in five Australian children are exposed to family violence – but in Frankston\, a group of teenagers are rewriting that story. \nBig hART and Respect Victoria invite you to an event screening of It Starts With Us\, an uplifting 30-minute documentary that follows young people as they transform their own lives and community through the power of storytelling. Guided by family violence advocates\, including Rosie Batty\, they use art to unpack the social pressures that lead to gender-based violence. Their journey will move you\, inspire you\, and show you what’s possible when we believe in young people’s ability to lead change. \nFollowing the screening\, young people from Frankston will join Respect Victoria CEO Helen Bolton\, Productivity Commissioner and economist\, Dr Angela Jackson and School Principal Peter Langham in a panel discussion facilitated by Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon. Together\, they will explore what prevention looks like\, when it works\, and how children and young people can contribute to shaping lasting change. \nRegister here \nMonday 1st December 2025 \nKino Cinema\, Collins St Melbourne \n10am-12pm
