SUMMARY:YPVITH – Neurodiverse Affirming Practice With Young People and Their Families | The Centre
DESCRIPTION:Building on the Centre’s Four Pillars of Practice Model for YPVITH\, the training builds on practitioners’ understanding of ADHD and autism by exploring different presentations and dispelling common myths. The training examines the links between nervous system dysregulation and aggressive behaviours. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how to apply a therapeutic approach\, as well as some suggested practice modifications and strategies to enhance engagement and improve the outcomes for the young person using violence and support their families and carers to better understand neurodiversity. \nThe training is developed by Dr Amanda Mullin\, Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Director\, Mindworx Psychology\, and delivered by Karalyn Davies\, Senior Project Officer\, Adolescent Violence in the Home\, the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare. \nNote: this training is not designed for parents or carers or for practitioners supporting young people using violence in contexts outside of the home\, such as community or peer violence or intimate partner violence. \nIntended audience \nYPVITH\, Neurodiverse Affirming Practice With Young People and Their Families\, is a three-hour interactive training for professionals from all disciplines and service sectors working with neurodivergent young people using violence in the home. \nOnline- 25 Nov- 9.30am to 12.30pm  Cost :$230 inc.
