DESCRIPTION:This workshop provides a practical and experiential exploration of the neurobiology of professional well-being. It considers the risks and impacts of vicarious trauma and provides a framework that enables the implementation of a well being approach. DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Sex Worker Affirming Practice \nJoin RhED’s Health Educators online for an introduction to sex worker affirming practice! \nThese sessions are aimed at those working in a range of community and social services\, as well as those working in private practice\, who are looking to develop a greater understanding of the strengths of\, and challenges facing\, the sex work community. This training also encompasses how individuals and services can reform and/or enhance their practice to create a sex worker inclusive and affirming space and proactively contribute towards challenging sex worker stigma and discrimination with greater confidence. \nThis session will cover: \n· Who is RhED? \n· What is sex work\, who does it\, and why? \n· The consequences of conflating sex trafficking with sex work. \n· Victorian sex work legislation and the impact of legislation on sex workers. \n· Sex work stigma and discrimination. \n· Engaging in sex worker affirming & non-stigmatising practice. \nOur Introduction to Sex Worker Affirming Practice sessions include interactive elements\, and have time for discussion and questions. \nAfter attending this session you will have a deeper understanding of sex work stigma and its impact on the sex work community\, as well as some ideas and practice approaches you can implement in your work to create a safer and more inclusive service for sex workers. \nRegister here
