SUMMARY:Engaging with Parents\, Carers & Families of LGBTIQA+ Young People
DESCRIPTION:The Family Reconciliation Mediation Program (FRMP)\, in partnership with Drummond Street Services and the Centre for Family Research & Evaluation (CFRE) is offering specialist training to build staff capacity in supporting LGBTIQA+ young people and their families. Beginning with a 101 e-learning module on inclusive language\, pronouns\, unconscious bias\, and safe environments\, the program prepares participants for a 2-hour in-person or online workshop delivered by trainers with professional and lived experience. \nThe training equips staff to support LGBTIQA+ youth\, navigate disclosure and confidentiality\, and engage families\, while also providing strategies\, referral pathways\, and resources. Grounded in Queerspace’s evidence-based and intersectional practice model\, it centres lived experience and LGBTIQA+ voices\, helping staff improve outcomes for young people and foster more inclusive and supportive environments across the sector. \nRegister here 22nd October Online \n

SUMMARY:PiP in Person - Conversations across the Continuum: Prevention in Theory and Practice | Safe + Equal
DESCRIPTION:Amidst increased community attention on family and gender-based violence\, we need all parts of our system connected and reinforcing of one another. How can primary prevention be connected to a broader system of efforts? What does greater integration and exchange across the prevention continuum look like in practice? How can that work be supported? \nJoin us for a panel of leaders and practitioners as they share stories from practice. Morning tea will be provided\, along with ample opportunity to connect with colleagues across the family violence system. \nThe session will also be live streamed. \nRegister here
